This app lets you control your hearing aids from your mobile device. It comes with an app for Apple Watch helping you discreetly change programs and adjust volume (when within Bluetooth range).
Just a note: some features may be available depending on your hearing aid model. Check below for details.

• Connect to and adjust an Auracast™ broadcast (available for Oticon Intent™ and Oticon Zeal™ models)

You need to pair your hearing aids with this app to use it to control your hearing aids.
App availability:
The app is compatible with most hearing aid models. If you have hearing aids from 2016-2018 and haven’t updated them yet, a hearing aid update is required for this app to work. We recommend regular hearing aid updates during your routine check-up with your hearing care professional.

servicefeature_requestsI have been using the Companion app with my Oticon Intent 2 hearing aids for one month. I am still learning, but the basic controls are quite straightforward. My audiologist provided four basic listening situations which can be tweaked with the volume, balance, and equalizer controls. Streaming media and phone calls directly to my hearing aids is a real plus. My favorite feature is the “Mute” button. You can use it when neighbors are mowing their lawns or running chainsaws. I use it mostly to dampen the morning TV news. I did not mention previously that I have an iPhone 16 paired to my Oticon Intent 2 hearing aids. I think it would be helpful to reviewers if reviews included the make and model of all the devices associated with their hearing aids. Many older smartphones do not have the capability to handle all the features which modern hearing aids are capable of providing.

performance_and_bugsserviceHmm, what to say? This is the only option I have been informed to control / monitor my hearing aids. So, it does what I need it to do without much fanfare or issue. That’s about all I need, right? My only observation is that the app does not always seems to recognize when I am wearing my hardware. It’s really odd too. I can change my modifiers from General to another setting, I have one called “Speech in Noise”, but even then the app may not acknowledge that I am wearing them for the “are you wearing your hearing aids” part of the app. This is not overly important for me because I wear them, but someone else may need or would like it to function constantly. I still give the app 5-stars because, like I wrote earlier, it truly does all I need it to function for me.

performance_and_bugsI was pleasantly surprised to get a prompt response to my inquiry, even at 10pm in the evening. As with many other companies with a help line they normally respond within a week or later. Sometimes they don’t respond at all. So I was very impressed with a response email within 30 minutes. The instructions given from your service representative was clear and concise and I was able to resolve my problem within minutes. I’m truly impressed. My only other concern is that my Bluetooth signal will periodically fade in and out during the day, even with fully charged batteries. This is a minor inconvenience and not a deal breaker. Thank you again!
