terrible design. Decent concept, but the game play is clunky and tedious. It is pay to play if you want any chance at succeeding or even growing your town. Be prepared to spend $1000 a month to compete. the "battles" are riddiculous, especially in cross-state competitions. You can only teleport to certain areas and this forces you to make long, slow marches that the enemy just moves away from. You can only teleport to a new zone by buying special teleports (in cross-state). Terrible game.

Not like the old Age of Empires PC games. The graphics are really good but even with better graphics this game doesn't meet expectations. I don't like the direction the developers went to turning this game into a empire building game that is strongly backed with the pay to win model. Also, the previous AoE games you would join a online lobby, play, and after the game you are done. Now, you are always online and its more of a base-building platform with mini games to keep you occupied.

I have played the original PC version one, two and the expansion packs and this game is nothing like the PC version at all. it's another one of those games inside of a game and I don't like those. they've managed to weasel in a second game combined with age of empires. that's on a bigger scale with a bigger map and you have to join a team if you want to survive. this is just another variation of STATE OF SURVIVAL, one of the original games that came out with this format. (uninstalled)
